Kevin Rowe

60 seconds with Kevin Rowe, Client Sales Manager

What attracted you to Silver Cloud?

Having been in the Telco sector for many years, I was looking for an opportunity to join a business with a long-term growth strategy. One that was investing in industry-specific future technologies, supporting long-term customer engagement, and offering a leading proposition portfolio.

I met Tony for an initial conversation, and it was immediately clear that Silver Cloud was all of those things. It’s a customer-centric business with a ‘can do’ approach and an expanding product portfolio. It’s rapidly becoming a leading independent technology partner in the B2B market, supporting clients with Cloud, IT, VoIP, 4G connectivity, software & IoT solutions.

What are your impressions so far?

I have been incredibly impressed at the pace of evolution and growth. The senior leadership team have a well-defined business plan and a clear strategy, and Silver Cloud has a great working culture that supports personal growth and career progression. I’ve been particularly impressed with the speed at which additional products and services are being brought into the Silver Cloud product portfolio – along with the right people to support these services. This is a business on a journey, and one that I’m really pleased to be part of.

What is your job title?

I didn’t want to be pigeonholed into a product-defined job title. So I chose Client Sales Manager.

What does your role involve?

I introduce prospects to the Silver Cloud product portfolio and create a sound business case for them to change the way they operate. This could be as simple a changing their mobile phone provider, or an IT project that delivers a real world increase in productivity and efficiency.

What is the biggest challenge you face?

Due to Covid my time in the office has been limited, so it’s been harder to get to know people.  But I am looking forward to spending time with the team, sharing best practice and delivering some whiteboard training on mobile & IoT.

What are you reading now?

Bruce Dickinson’s autobiography, ‘What does this button do?’. He is an inspiration: he achieved huge success as the lead singer of Iron Maiden, and behind the scenes he is also an accomplished international fencer, pilot, aviation entrepreneur, motivational speaker and film script writer.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Definitely Bruce Dickinson. Imagine the sheer volume of stories, anecdotes and jokes!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

My spare time revolves around family and friends. I have been married to Maxine for nearly 18 years, and we have a 16-year-old son, Lewis. Before Covid we enjoyed travelling and experiencing other countries and cultures.

Music is also a big part of my life, I am into HIFI, and I’m constantly tweaking my set-up. I also like to get out to live gigs as much as possible, and recently bought tickets for Download at Donnington in 2022.
