Paul Sanderson

60 seconds with Paul Sanderson, Business Change Manager

How long have you been with Silver Cloud?

It’s my two-year anniversary on Thursday 29 July. The time has absolutely flown by.

You’ve just been promoted. What was your former job title, and what is your new one?

I was brought on as Logistics Co-ordinator, and the promotion I’ve been given is to the position of Business Change Manager.

What does your new role involve? What are the main differences from your old one?

The new role centres on standardising the way we do things at Silver Cloud: helping the business to operate as efficiently as possible through system improvement and process implementation. This position is a new one, and different to my previous post in logistics. (That focused heavily on order fulfillment, to ensure that our installs were completed without having any problems with the hardware.)

Although it’s a newly created post, Silver Cloud has done a lot of work on processes in recent years. It runs much better now, thanks to the hard work of every department working together.

What is the biggest challenge you face in your new role?

The biggest challenge will be moving at the pace required to make the changes that are expected over the next three to five years. But it’s one that I welcome, and I know it is achievable because of the team around me.

What are you reading at the moment?

I will admit that I listen to audiobooks more than I read. I am currently listening to Ben Elton’s ‘Identity Crisis’, and ‘Atomic Habits’ by James Clear. I have The Hobbit at home in the old fashioned form of an actual book; I’ll read it one day!

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

This is the trickiest question of the lot – I think it would have to be the comedian Bill Burr. I think he would be the exception to the rule that you shouldn’t meet your heroes.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I recently started cycling and rock climbing, and I really enjoy both. Other than that it’s going camping, out for dinner with my better half, or getting together with friends.
