We are looking for a highly motivated and conscientious Pre-sales Engineer to support to our sales team. You will help to assess our customers’ challenges and needs, and then design tailored solutions using our product portfolio.
Key day-to-day responsibilities
- Work with Sales to identify, qualify and prioritise customer opportunities and presales engagements.
- Customer visits and site surveys.
- Direct engagement with customers.
- Provide accurate handover information to sales and the technical delivery teams, inclusive of technical architecture documentation, bill of materials and a professional services breakdown.
- Understand and complete technical aspects in proposal documentation, RFIs, RFPs, ITTs and presentations.
- Test new products and services.
- Support other Silver Cloud teams.
- Proof-of-concept development.

Skills and knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of and experience with:
- Public Cloud
- Microsoft 365
- VMWare
- Windows Server and related technology
- Shared Storage technologies
- Server Hardware
- Awareness of new and emerging technologies.
- Account management. Work closely with key customers to build a trusting relationship. Take a strategic approach to developing and growing accounts.
- Able to work well as part of a team and individually.
- Highly motivated: setting and achieving challenging goals.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience of working in an IT service provider/re-seller environment.
- Professional certifications (eg. Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, VCP-DCV).
Hours
37.5 hours per week. The working hours are normally Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, with an hour for lunch.
Salary
Competitive, depending on experience.
